We are soon to be homeowners.... We will have a stucco house. The stucco should be the type that is colored. How is the maintenance for such stucco? How many years can you expect before needing to repaint... Or do you need to apply new stucco? ??? Grateful for answers....

A plastered facade should not need replastering for several decades. If it's well done from the beginning and then maintained correctly, it should last 50-100 years. However, it needs to be repainted and repaired sometimes. How often depends on the type and exposure. If painted with the wrong type of paint, it can be ruined in a couple of years. Incorrectly executed repairs also shorten the lifespan.

Pass by a paint shop. Make sure to talk to someone who has worked there for a long time (so don't go in on the weekend when regular staff might be off). Are you building new? In that case, it's easy. If it's a second-hand house, bring a piece of the facade paint as a sample.
