Approximately how much does 1 sqm of tiles weigh? Approximately?
Going to Poland to shop and was wondering how heavy it might be with tiles + clinker for our bathroom.....
Possibly the kitchen too, although not much is needed there.

Tiles weigh: ~ 12 - 15 Kg/m²

Clinker weighs: ~ 16 - 20 Kg/m²

: So a sturdy car is needed, especially if you're going to fill up the full ration too!! ;D

I was thinking of bringing a trailer. It costs just as much to go to Poland with no vehicle at all as it does to bring a car with a trailer.

At least on a shopping trip like the one we're going on with Stena Line.

Keep in mind that the trailer can be a maximum of 4 meters long, and it's a tiiiiny trailer......otherwise it costs 845:- extra. (one way)

And they're counting the hitch too, so it's not just the bed length!!

Read in the registration certificate, those are the numbers that apply.

Take the opportunity to buy a little extra and pay for a truck transport instead. I've done both and I definitely recommend separate transport.

The trailer is not 4 meters including the hitch... it is a small unbraked trailer. I have calculated that we will buy 300 kg of tiles + klinkers and then we have 400 kg left to load on the trailer. Then we have a combi car with us to load in. That should be enough....

The small unbraked trailer has a TOTAL WEIGHT of 750kg, you can't load 750kg on it. Typically, you can load around 380kg on them.

We loaded 13-1400kg in the car when we went over....

We'll bring the trailer next time as well.

On the Polferries Nynäshamn-Gdansk, we had to pay about 1800 extra for the trailer (round trip). Might be worth it though..

With Stena Line Karlskrona-Gdynia, you bring the trailer and car for free ;D
