The guys who redid my roof a few years ago "straightened out" the roof by placing plastic wedges of varying colors under the battens. Then the battens were nailed or screwed down through the wedges.
I've come up with more building projects where it would be really practical to have spacers of different thicknesses that aren't damaged by driving a screw through them.
Where can I buy such things?
I've found packing shims and spacers for flooring, but it doesn't feel right.
