We are planning to build a stand for the washing machine and dryer. We want to raise it a bit and have the dirty laundry underneath in drawers.
We have built the stand (just a frame) but are unsure what type of board to use for the machines to stand on. We are thinking plywood since it is cheap and easy to get, and we're also considering covering it to protect against any water drips from the machine.
But the thickness of the board? The stand is 1.7m wide x 70cm deep. What thickness is needed?

The machines shake quite a bit so it's important for it to be stable.
Personally, I would have preferred to buy a ready-made pedestal for the washing machine with a built-in laundry basket. Very convenient to just throw the laundry straight into a basket (which is always in place).
