I live in a 40s house with "kexvägg" that makes it difficult to attach things, and also new electricity is unattractively installed on the wall. I'm considering "covering" the old wall with a new inner wall where I put new studs, OSB, and drywall, and at the same time, build in the electricity more neatly. All the tips I've found here and on YouTube are about building a new freestanding wall. I just want to build over the old one. Is there anything that differs between building a freestanding wall and just building over the old one?
