Hello!
We are in the process of renovating a brick house from the late 70s that stands sturdy and high on a concrete slab. We've poured a new inner floor with underfloor heating and will soon start on the walls. The wall panels are original particle board in good condition. I can't decide whether to
1. Tear down the wallpaper and just put up new ones without doing anything to the panel seams, which are completely joined. How big is the risk that the wallpaper will crack at the panel seams then? The old wallpaper has cracked.
2. Tear down the wallpaper, fill the seams with joint tape and put up new wallpaper. Can it turn out well when the panel edges are not beveled and will it hold?
3. Put up renovation gypsum on the whole thing. Should I take down the old paper wallpaper beforehand, and can I put the gypsum directly on the particle boards or is an air gap needed in between? The existing particle boards are even and in good condition.
Grateful if anyone with experience in similar projects has any tips :)

1. very large.
2. no, probably not.
3. works well, if thickness is not an issue, regular plaster is better and cheaper.
