Hi! Complete novice here who just bought my first apartment and wants to build a large computer + hobby desk, though I'm a bit unsure how possible it is. The dream is to do it without table legs since I prefer how it looks and how easy it is to clean.

I am a bit unsure about how many brackets I would need to attach to the wall so that they don't pull out of it. I know there is a risk the desk might become wobbly, and if it does, I'll add a table leg, but I want to try without!

I've attached a small picture of how I envisioned building the desk and linked to all the hardware/sheets/plugs. I believe the wall is gypsum right now, but I haven't tested; it could be concrete underneath.

The idea is to attach it to the wall with 3 brackets as support underneath with 2 extra angle irons for fastening into the wall. The dimensions would be as follows:

Thickness, veneer: 3 mm
Length: 246 cm
Depth: 63.5 cm
Thickness: 3.8 cm

The table would be a bit lighter than solid wood, I guess, as it is veneer from Ikea. An alternative to angle irons would be to put up two battens between the brackets to attach instead.

As mentioned, I am a complete beginner at this, so I gladly welcome all input that people can offer!

If there are wooden studs in the wall and you can attach to them, then it might work.
I would never attach to just single drywall. The plug will hold but there's a high risk that the drywall won't.

Yep! I have a stud finder that I'm trying to locate them with, do you think a combination of plug + attaching to the studs would work?

No anchors in wooden studs, but screws with heavy threads are good.

I think I phrased myself wrong, meant plug where there is no stud and where there is a stud attach directly into it.

There was someone here a while ago who made a nice desk hung in an elfa-system. Being able to have shelves on the wall is usually appreciated after a while, which speaks for such a solution.
