From what I understand, you are not allowed to build a wall with wooden studs directly against a chimney due to fire risk. Does anyone know how to avoid the fire risk??

Use steel studs, then drywall. OK according to our fire safety inspector.

stop burning ;)

Keep in mind that you cannot fasten to the chimney breast with screws etc.

Hello,

Regarding the requirement that the chimney must be inspectable and that you cannot attach battens, OSB, or plasterboard to the chimney stack. Does this apply even if the only channel used for firing has a metal flexi-pipe all the way?
