Screw glue a 45*220 on each side with a substantial overlap and it should be strong enough.
 
The load on a roof truss varies depending on the placement, but generally, the load is least in the middle of the wood and greatest at the top and bottom. An iron ring in the hole doesn't directly solve the problem. The best option might be to mount a metal hollow beam on the roof truss. The alternative is to install two 220 mm beams next to each other and make holes in all three.
