Hello!
I'm in the process of building a small house in lightweight concrete and have just put on the roof. I'm about to start creating the air gap now and I seem to read mixed opinions on how the ventilation should be designed. The roof looks like this from the inside:
Wood panel
Sparse
Plastic
340mm insulation
Air gap about 40mm
Boarding
YAP2200
The air gap starts at the eaves and leads up to a triangular ridge beam that measures about 40cm. My question is whether I should make holes for gable vents in the gable peaks to ventilate the ridge beam, or should I skip this? I seem to read mixed opinions regarding roof ventilation and how much ventilation is actually appropriate, but I've always had the impression that the roof should be well ventilated?
Grateful for all knowledgeable answers!
