Where should I sell my leftover screws after closing down the business?
Hello!
I have a large batch of fasteners left over after a solar panel installation project that unfortunately didn't go as planned.
These are quality products from Weland, all completely new and unused, and have been stored dry. What I have includes:
SS6191 – self-drilling screw 6.3x19 mm with sealing washer (used for solar panel installation on metal/roof)
SS1025 – stock screw (for attachment in wood + installation of rail systems for solar cells)
BU1200 – bolt M10x20 mm (for mounting brackets and rails)
TS1000 – screw 6x30 mm
In addition to this, there are also some other fasteners, washers, etc.
These are larger quantities (bulk), so it might be most interesting for:
companies
installers
retailers
or someone working with solar panels/construction
I am now considering where it would be smartest to sell this –
👉 sell in bulk to companies?
👉 auction?
👉 or is there an actor that buys this kind of thing?
I would gratefully receive any tips 🙏

Gratefully accepting all tips 🙏
It's stainless steel screws I should add
PS auctions and those who sell tractors, building materials, etc. maybe? Easiest if one takes everything, or you could sell off what you can in rounds if someone doesn't want everything... regular online auctions, Sikö, Haraldssons, etc. can sometimes take in quite unusual items!H Hispaniola said:
Feels like the overwhelmingly largest market for such surplus lots is auction, like Blinto.
You're likely to reach most buyers/brokers (to the extent they exist in that market) that way as well, even though it's a bit of a lottery with how well paid you get.
The question is how you prioritize between best payment, least work, quick deal?

Thank you so much for the tip.
I initially thought of selling to consumers, installers, or sheet metal/solar firms directly but realized that most might buy 1-3000 screws and then be satisfied, and I would rather have sold it off for the space at significantly much lower prices than what I paid.
For example, say 3000 pcs cost me of SS6191 7800+m, if one advertised such a bulk for 2000, it should be "interesting?"
The same applies to TS1000 which cost 9000+m, should be able to sell for 2000:- as well?
I prioritize the least work/quick deal and the payment more "symbolic," although, of course, you want to get back as much as possible since it's been my own capital I've had to take out in screws, and I have neither the interest to unscrew any longer nor the space to store them while waiting for better times.C cpalm said:It seems like the largest market by far for such surplus items is auction, like Blinto.

Blinto, is it possible to advertise as a private individual on that site?
No, I think you misunderstood me 🤣 I have no problem doing it publicly or with tax obligations. I feel that it no longer has value to me as a fixture and that all the money the products convert after fees and other things is definitely of greater interest heheC cpalm said:
I have paid the purchase price at Ahlsells, so I've probably paid as high as one can pay 🤣 I'm hoping to possibly get back 20-30%D Diamant said:
It can be split if the buyer would like to purchase smaller batches.
What happens is that Blinto submits a report to the tax authority, and depending on the amounts involved, SKV can view it as a business transaction and start investigating it, completely independent of what you and Blinto have agreed upon or how you personally view whether it is a private sale or not, etc.S skruvkakaa said:
