Using oil-tempered board instead of outdoor gypsum or asphalt board?
Considering if it's okay to use oil-hardened board instead of outdoor gypsum or asfaboard?
The board should stiffen up the walls well. Like bookshelves from IKEA that have a masonite back panel that strengthens the bookshelf.
And they seem to withstand rain well (better than gypsum and asfaboard)?
Or is it completely crazy

If you are going to insulate it and have boards on the inside or put paneling on the outside, there is no need for additional reinforcement in the form of special boards, works well with wind barrier. Asfaboard or exterior gypsum is used in your case if it will be without any surface layer for longer periods, e.g., over the winter. Provided that it is a "normal" frame.
