Hello,
I am in the process of building a greenhouse where we plan to construct a base of lightweight concrete on the outside and partially on the inside to create a U-shaped planting area indoors.
It turned out that I got a bunch of lightweight concrete blocks from xella (I believe it's the Ytong block) and plan to use them. Now that it's time to start laying them, I realized it might not be the most suitable application for them from a moisture perspective.
The finished product is intended to have a plastered finish on the outside and nothing at all on the other side, with soil against it.
Does anyone have experience using similar lightweight concrete blocks for something like this?
If it's impossible, would it help to raise it 5-10 cm and place Leca lightweight concrete underneath?
Could it be a solution to put a fiber cement board on the inside as protection against moisture from the soil?
Nothing with plastic is allowed as a solution.
All kinds of help are welcome!
