Hello everyone,

We have built a garage building in lightweight concrete (Ytong) and have determined that it is too late to plaster the building this year due to excessively low temperatures. External plastering will thus take place in the spring.

My question is whether we need to protect the lightweight concrete from the weather, or if it is best left exposed to the elements. Lightweight concrete contains quite a bit of moisture when it's new and needs to dry out on one hand, which it won't do if it rains on it on the other.

Does anyone have a recommendation?

Polish in the spring. The aerated concrete will dry out, which is good for the plastering. Rain dries away fairly quickly unless there is heavy rain for weeks.
What type of plaster will you choose?

Hello and thank you for the reply!
I'm currently leaning towards Caparol's products Capitect.
