Hi!
I'm torn between which flooring to install at home! We have two small children and no pets! We will install the same flooring in all bedrooms, the living room, and the common area on the upper floor! So far, I've always installed moderately priced laminate flooring and have been quite satisfied with it! But most of my colleagues and my dad think, of course, that we should go for parquet flooring for the feel!
What do you think, and if you have any tips on a good and stylish single-strip floor?
Thanks in advance

Good question! Previous floors have been 2-300 for laminate! If it becomes 700-1000, then I'll have to buy one room at a time! I've looked at different options for around 4-500!zarkov said:
What provides the "feeling" that this price range has? Thickness or generally better quality?
A middle ground could be "hardened wood flooring" from e.g. Bjelin. Durability like laminate but a wood feel. I have no experience with it but liked the feeling in the store.
It's probably a very subjective feeling. Laminate can feel a bit colder to walk on and the variation is worse, often only 7-8 different prints are used so if you're unlucky, the repetitions can be noticeable.L LP7 said:
I have just laid 25 m² of laminate in our bedroom, a child's room, and in the office, I wouldn't have wanted to lay hardwood there considering the child and dog play. We actually decided to lay laminate in the hallway/corridor and living room for the same reasons, so we will see if we lay real wood next time or if we redo it when the kids are old enough.
Okay! We've thought the same as you there too! A friend laid a variant between wood and laminate and his kid has already scratched and made dents in the floor!zarkov said:

Which floor did you buy? 😊
Just keep in mind that manufacturers change their range every now and then. Don't ask me how I know that…L LP7 said:
Pergo Elegant Oak 3-strip laminate. Partly we didn't want to spend a fortune since we needed to buy quite a lot, partly we wanted a durable floor that could withstand both children and a dog.L LP7 said:
We had originally planned to use Ikea's most expensive 1-strip laminate, but then suddenly it was discontinued and was no longer available for order. Luckily, we hadn't started laying it yet, so we could return the ten packages we had bought a few months earlier.
Tarkett oak nature rustic duo plank. I believe it has been discontinued now. However, I bought it before the price surge and paid well under 500 SEK/sqm. Today, you might have to pawn a couple of internal organs to manage the payment. But it can't be denied that there's a more cozy feeling with a parquet floor compared to laminate.
The other floor is a two-strip oak from Kährs, and my experience is that this one is softer and therefore more easily gets marks.
Bjelins is said to be good, I have no personal experience yet, but plan to lay about 50 sqm this spring.

Okay, thanks! I'll take a look at Bjelin now! Seems like it's only Krauta that sells it apart from themselves?
