Hi. I have a perhaps somewhat unusual construction project ahead of me. I have an old barn, which was a pigsty many years ago. We are thinking of converting this part of the barn into a kind of party venue/hobby space. However, the area is large enough that we feel we won't use the entire barn section for this venue, so we want to partition it with a rather long wall so we can have storage space/utility space in the remaining section. The exterior walls are old concrete walls with plaster in good condition, so a proper wash and then painting with new color will suffice. The question is how to divide the space in a hopefully cost-effective manner. The space will only be heated when we use it, meaning the barn will be cold in the winter, and moisture may accumulate in the space. So drywall might not hold up well after a few years.
So I'm looking for tips on good construction materials that will last.
Ideally, it might be old cold room walls or something similar.
Anyone with good suggestions?
