Hello,

we have built a low wall as follows:

However, it seems unfortunately difficult to find a reasonable top stone for the wall; if you buy new, the price easily ends up the same as the entire wall has cost so far, i.e., around 5000-6000 SEK. It's even harder to find anything secondhand.

So the question is, what do you think about using frost-protected black tiles? Will it look too simple?

It almost has to be a stone material. The sandstone becomes extremely easily discolored. Aesthetically, I think black tiles can go excellently with the sandstone. The only hesitation concerns the difference in thermal expansion. The sandstone has 3 times the coefficient of linear expansion. It's important to find an elastic grout and have many soft joints between the tiles.

Yes, you are probably right, but it will likely cost as much as any other topsten.
