Hi, hope the thread is in the right place.

I'm about to move into a new apartment soon, regarding the bathroom, I've opted for tiled walls. But the WC could only be painted (with a cover over the sink, which I opted against).

Is it possible to tile this afterwards without tearing everything down? Or will I have to settle for a painted wall there?

Thanks in advance.

shouldn't be any problem. on the wc, it only requires that the floor has a waterproofing layer, so if you want to tile the walls, just go ahead.

Yes exactly, that's my thought too. I just want to make a cosmetic change that doesn't become too advanced or expensive. Everything will be newly built, so it feels overkill to start tearing things down right away.

The question is whether paint is a good base material, considering if the paint will peel off from the drywall?

Or are there other pitfalls with the aforementioned method? Maybe I should check with a professional, I will probably hire someone to do the job anyway.
