Hello!

I'm in the process of renovating in the basement (excavated in '49) and it will soon be time to tackle the walls. All walls consist of concrete blocks. The outer walls are built with 30 cm thick stones at the bottom, and ~80 cm above the floor, they are built with 25 cm thick stones. Then fiberboard insulation has been attached above the "ledge" and then ~1 cm lime plaster has been applied. The inner walls are built with the same thickness all the way and also plastered with lime plaster.

What I'm wondering now is how best to proceed to be able to tile these walls? As I understand it, tiling on the lime plaster is out of the question because it's too weak.

1) Should I sand down the plaster to the concrete blocks and fiberboard and then plaster the walls?
2) Which plaster mortar should I use, B or C?
3) Should I reinforce with "chicken wire"?

Grateful for answers!
