Does anyone know approximately how much it might cost to tear down a wall between the kitchen and living room? It is still unknown whether the wall is load-bearing or not.

Whether it is load-bearing or not is very significant. Another factor that comes into play is how long the wall is. A third factor is what it is made of. A fourth factor is whether it contains electricity or plumbing.

But demolishing is not that difficult. If you just want to knock down the wall without regard to anything, it can take one or a couple of hours of work.

As andersmc already wrote, there is a huge difference between demolishing a wall made of wooden studs with single drywall compared to a masonry wall of concrete blocks, just as there is a big difference depending on whether it is empty or filled with electrical, heating, plumbing, etc. A load-bearing wall cannot be removed without being replaced with a beam and support, which also entails costs for structural calculations.

Then some material like feed, trim floor, etc. will be needed to fill in the "hole" with.
