We have bought an apartment in a house from 1928 and were thinking of tearing down a wall between the dining room and the kitchen. It is non-load-bearing, so there shouldn't be any problems with that. We were thinking of trying to do it ourselves, we've never torn down a wall ourselves, but we've been on site when it was done. The floor is going to be torn up and replaced in the entire apartment, so we don't need to consider the floor, but how do you best fill in the holes that will appear in the wall and ceiling? The ceiling in the kitchen also differs from the rest of the apartment, it is some type of oak but we would like to have a white ceiling like in the rest of the apartment, hopefully, the original ceiling is there underneath.
