Hello!

We are considering creating an opening in the exterior wall to allow light into a veranda. The opening should be 6 m long. The house is made of double brick with plaster. The picture shows the old veranda that will be replaced by a 6 m wide veranda instead, with an opening in the exterior wall of 5-6 m. Is this possible? Do we need pillars? Please respond as soon as possible as we need to order windows on the Black Friday offer.

Exterior of a house with a white plaster facade and dark wood veranda, surrounded by greenery, considered for a 6m veranda renovation. Floor plan showing proposed 6 m opening in the outer wall for new glass veranda replacing existing, with highlighted areas and room dimensions.

It becomes cheaper to calculate with a consultant first and then order windows even if it is at expensive monday prices :D

Hi!

We're considering
Interesting consideration! It could certainly turn out great, but I probably wouldn't start by ordering windows. You might need a building permit, which is based on construction drawings among other things. How high will the window section be if you need a beam above to support the roof? And how should the opening be made? Who will do it, etc.

That's where I would continue my considerations, before purchasing windows.
