When I had an Anticimex inspection after just buying the house, they went up to the attic. The previous owner had laid Styrofoam boards as additional insulation, and according to Anticimex, this was not okay. Condensation that wanted to rise remained under the boards because they don't allow water to pass through. Wrong or right, what do I know, but that's what they said!?
That's quite correct, one should not combine styrofoam with other insulation in an attic floor in that way. However, if it had been underneath, closest to the interior ceiling, with regular wool insulation on top, it would have worked well.
Okay, then I think I understand, the records I had in the attic were on top of the sawdust insulation.
