Hi, we have moved into a new apartment that has an added loft. The loft is attached at one end to a concrete wall (I think) and at the other end it stands on 2 beams (about 5x5cm). On the short sides, I hardly think the loft is attached at all. My question now is how much load this can withstand. I understand it's almost impossible to say, but the old owner said about 300kg, which I think sounds low. A company that is supposed to have built it - is it common to contact them afterward for such questions?

What do you knowledgeable people think - how is it usually built to ensure it is durable?

Without knowing how big the loft is, it's impossible to answer. Please make a sketch, and you'll probably get a good answer.

The loft is approximately 2.2x3 meters. The long side (3 meters) has support.

The studs that attach to the wall have a plasterboard underneath = difficult to see how much and WHERE it actually attaches.

Far from sufficient information.
