Hi, can anyone kindly calculate or give a tip on a program for determining what type (size) of steel beam I need? I plan to mount it across the garage in the ceiling and on top of the wall band. The span is 5.5m. It will not support any structure; the purpose is to attach an eyelet in the middle to lift/hoist items weighing a couple of hundred kilograms max. Thanks in advance.
If you are going to lift a maximum of 500 kg, an HEA 120 is sufficient.
