No, they are not hidden. He just nailed them on, through both layers, just like he was using cardboard nails.

Not good, right?
I'm not really sure, as I mentioned I used T-Emballage’s tar paper and according to the installation instructions, it was okay to staple, but whether you used staples or nails, these should be 'hidden,' if I recall correctly.
However, the tar paper shouldn't really get wet once the tiles or metal sheets are installed. :)

That's true, but I'm careful about building for the future, so it feels disappointing that it won't last for a long time. This concerns one side of our six that needs to be laid, so there's time to redeem it

There is an approved RF clamp but if it has rusted, it was obviously not the (very expensive) type and you may have problems with leakage in all the holes through both layers.

Tile roofs are hardly "watertight", it's important to have good underlayment beneath them.

At least the roof is now laid, and I put up a sheet metal roof that hopefully doesn't leak ;) Sometimes you just have to accept that it won't be 100%, and I probably won't find out in my lifetime if it was a bad or good idea with the staples...

However, for the other roofs I redid, I used a roofing nail gun and proper roofing nails! I often get the feeling that "it's better if I do it myself" when it comes to craftsmen. That's how it turned out this time too, unfortunately...

several clay tile roofs that I have demolished have been dry, the paper (not tar paper, simpler variant) crumbles.
then when you have opened up a roof for a dormer, you have been surprised because it has been so dry and nice.
that's when I was working in the Borås and Gothenburg areas.

Good to hear!
