The internal wind staircase will soon require a circus artist. I plan to build a staircase to attach to the gable and open for a storage door. The height is about 3 meters. The idea is to craft the parts for the staircase in my woodworking space now in winter to assemble it when the warmth returns in spring. I will measure the height to the bottom part of the door and determine where the staircase should start on the ground.
There are, I assume, certain measurement rules and some mathematical tricks to get the right height and length of the steps, for example. I probably also need advice on how to fix the platform under the door (against the wall or posts to the ground). I prefer supports against the wall.
Happy for any tips and advice.
