Hello! I'm contemplating designing a new staircase, as the original is too steep for us. I plan to construct it myself using pine with accompanying posts and stringers. However, I may be stuck regarding the design. The main issue is a window that will be partially in one of the steps, but perhaps there's no way around it?
Based on the original, the floor space will also be expanded in front of the staircase on the upper level, because a type of door will be installed in the future, and it's desirable to have that space when coming from below, so one doesn't get hurt from the sudden opening of the door.
If anyone has a different solution, I would gratefully accept it.
