Spackle different rounds?

I wonder if it's a bad idea to plaster a wall in different stages? I'd like to plaster around the light switches first so that area is completely done, and then plaster the entire wall. But is there a risk of getting ugly seams between the plastered areas that will show later on?

Is it generally recommended to plaster everything in one go or how do "people do it"?

Seamlessly spackling around outlets is no problem to manage directly.

I am methodical, and when it's the first time, I want to do one thing at a time and not feel stressed trying to do everything at once.

Anyway, it went well, the spackle is currently drying/set (or whatever you call it) now. This is probably going to be great
