I cut the renovation drywall boards lengthwise to make it easier to get them home in the car.
Now the help I hired to put up the boards has placed them side by side without any gap in the joint and without planing a beveled edge on them.
How should I now plaster this in a neat way?

S
you take out a gypsum knife and create a beveled edge. when they're there

It was a good suggestion, thank you. I'll try it.

S
gloves on and stand so you don't fall

understood, thanks for the thoughtfulness. :)

Yup. But make sure to be safe when building and not get injured. You only have one body. Hope your welds turn out nice.

But oh my god!! The plaster is indented at the edges so you can lay the tape there without getting a "bump"!!! A trailer can usually be rented for an affordable price... even borrowed for free at the hardware store!

now the plaster is cut. read a little first

Not everyone has a tow bar on their car though...

Not sure if you really need to bevel the edges actually.

Put fiberglass or paper tape and spread the plaster 15-20 cm on each side, so you don't see it when wallpapering anyway.

S
you get a stronger "joint" if you cut the edges.
bad spackling will be visible whether you use paint or wallpaper

bad plastering is visible no matter if you use paint or wallpaper
Well, it's easier to cheat with wallpaper than if you paint..

S
cheating does not exist within me

Haha.. What is tipptopp for someone might be cheating for someone else, so it is relative :)

Sorry for OT

S
of course. that's correct

Thanks, I know. I didn't have a tow hitch or roof rack and wanted to get the boards home. Now they're on the wall, a bit clumsily mounted, and my question was about making the best of the situation. SBH gave a decent answer that I intend to try to follow. The walls the boards cover are in a summer house, where it doesn't matter so much if a seam is visible here and there.
