I remember seeing a tip about placing some type of foam plastic under the studs when putting up interior walls in the house. Does anyone have any idea about this or know if it makes a difference?

Yes, that's true, but compared to everything else you can do to dampen the sound, it makes an insignificant difference.

Zingo .. do you have any tips, perhaps?

tested in the workshop and simply cut two strips of regular step-damping foam, i.e. the kind used under laminate. Not sure if it made much of a difference.

I think it's better with insulation in the wall
probably need the most damping there.

I believe that too. Then I had a cm gap between the drywall and the floor. It was filled with foam sealant just to be safe.

Foam sealant? at work, we use latex sealant or if it was something special when it comes to soundproofing. We apply it in the gap left against the wall and floor. But it might be overkill in a regular residence.

Best regards, Putte

It probably would have been better, but fogskum was what I had, so it became fogskum.

Ok Watch Out for expanding foam good for many things
but not good for health.
