Hello,
I have bought what are called compact interior doors (Bathroom and Laundry room) which are supposed to be more effective in dampening sound than molded or solid doors.
To get the best possible sound insulation, you need to ensure it's airtight so that air doesn't flow freely between the rooms, which is why we opted for frames with built-in seals. But how about the insulation between the door frame and the wall (light concrete)? Does mineral wool work just as well as foam sealant here?

Both rooms have mechanical exhaust and wall vents for incoming air, so air circulation should not be a problem. I haven't thought much about soundproofing here, the main goal is to dampen the sound between the rooms. If it turns out that ventilation is an issue, that will be the next step to look at.
Since this is the basement floor where sound tends to bounce around, the idea is to also install a few sound absorbers on the ceiling and possibly the walls. These will be the same as I've used before, i.e., Akustikskiva P70 from Bullerbekamparen.se.
But mineral wool? What is that? Stone wool? Or is fullfiber included too? Is this better than foam sealant to use between the door frame and the wall?
My idea is to apply MS polymer, such as Tec7, on both sides of the gap. I've had good experience with this when it comes to some movement that we apparently have in the house, especially around doors. I've tried other sealants before, but unfortunately, they almost always crack.
