Hello!
I have an apartment in a building constructed in 1988. In the bedroom, I have two concrete walls and two plaster walls. Unfortunately, the plaster walls let in too much noise; I can hear almost everything happening in my neighbor's apartment below, even footsteps. Additionally, I also hear sounds from water pipes in one of the walls.
So now I'm pondering whether it can be solved at all. I received the following suggestion from a carpenter: Insulate one wall (towards the bathroom) with double plasterboards; Insulate the exterior wall facing the backyard with a single layer of plasterboard, as there might still be some noise coming through the wall holes and channels that are meant for electricity and internet.
What do you experts think of the suggestion? Are there other alternatives?
