Soft edge on computer desk

Hi,

I bought a new computer desk. A regular table from IKEA. Everything is fine except that the edge is very sharp. So I get sore forearms. It leaves a mark under both arms where the skin meets the edge.

Can you think of something that can be attached or taped to make the edge softer? Shouldn't look too ugly. I could use pipe insulation, which I cut with a knife. But it doesn't look very nice.

Suggestions?

sand down the edge with sandpaper or raise the chair, alternatively attach a quarter round of oak or white?

Could this work? A corner guard... it can be painted in any color you want if white doesn't suit.

I would probably go for a wrist support as fahlis writes. Otherwise, there are forearm supports that attach with brackets to the edge of the table. They do cost a bit more though.
