Hello,

I am planning to enclose the eave at the patio.

Do you have any tips on how to seal the area between the enclosed eave and the facade if you have a board-and-batten style? I want to prevent wasps, bumblebees, etc., from building nests there. There will be significant "holes" between the baseboard and batten when the paneling continues behind the enclosed eave.

I first thought of cutting the battens (or maybe even the baseboards) in line with where the "eave panel" will connect to the facade, so it creates an even "fit." But that seems like quite a bit of extra work, and unfortunately, it landed right in the nail line, etc.

Of course, you could probably cut and fiddle with insect nets too if you want...

But any other tips? Cut blocks from the panel and place them in the holes? Or is there another method that is more of a standard solution in this case?

Hope you understand what I mean. :)

mouse band would it work?

No, I think it will be way too sparse. Wasps can get in if there is even the slightest gap larger than about 2-3 mm.
