Hi, I'm planning to install 5-6 shelves on a plasterboard wall. The wall is 1 m wide, and the height over which the shelves will be distributed is 3 m. I have wall tracks, which also have a hook that allows them to be hung on a horizontal "rail." I'm considering the best way to attach these. Is it enough to just secure the horizontal rail at the top (6 points, I was thinking M5 metal expanders), or should I complement with fastenings along the vertical tracks as well? Or should I only use fastenings on the vertical tracks and skip the "hanging rail" at the top? The stability will come when the shelves are attached, I'm mostly thinking from a load-bearing perspective on what's best. The idea is to store books on the shelves. It's hard to know the exact weight, but books are relatively heavy.

Since you will have rails, you can probably adjust the width and attach them to the studs behind the drywall. Find the studs with a stud finder, they are probably spaced 60cc apart (everything 45cc).

Your problem is the reason why most people now build with OSB or plywood behind the drywall. With something as heavy as a bookshelf (can be several kg of books), I would be too cautious to use plaster anchors.
