Some remove moldings and baseboards when wallpapering, while others don't even move bookshelves (i.e., don't wallpaper behind bookshelves).

Personally, I think it looks best when you wallpaper up to the moldings and cut on the molding so there are no gaps.

But everyone finds their own happiness, so you can do as you please. However, in old houses, it's a heck of a job to remove moldings and baseboards, so I advise those considering this as a simplification when wallpapering to think twice. :)
