Well, we have a rot damage in the balcony door threshold and also at the bottom of the door. 
It's only on one side.
Yesterday I removed asphalt and a gum-like substance that was placed against the wall to seal the wall-balcony floor. It's not completely sealed between the asbestos cement boards, so water comes in, but the water couldn't get out due to the sealing and probably ran towards the door instead. I don't know if that explains the rot damage since the door is also damaged.
Dreading how it looks under the asbestos cement as it lies against the plastered wall. Anyone with experience?

PuTsade, of course. We are lucky in this context that our air gap is on the outside. and then, I realized, it might not be a big problem. Because the outer boards are ventilated. On the other hand, it might get humid air in the air gap and rot damage because of that. But what about down at the edge if water has run there?
