We have an ongoing extension and now the interior doors are being installed. We chose solid wood doors for better sound insulation, but it feels like the sealing around the frame is just as important (after all, they are quite large gaps). How should this sealing be done to achieve maximum sound insulation?

  • White wooden door partially installed with visible gaps around the frame, highlighting ongoing construction and considerations for improved soundproofing.

Caulk and seal from both sides before fitting the trim. Perhaps also a bead of sealant under the threshold to make it extra good.
