I have built a cushion box that is placed outdoors. It leaks a little water and I want it to be completely waterproof. I can't find the right type of plastic. What is the name of such plastic (or other material) that can be used for sealing inside?

Do you have a picture of the box? I think you should have a lid that is sealed from the outside and then holes in the bottom of the box so that any water that comes in can drain out.

Buy a cheap tarp and attach it to the inside and the lid. Fasten with a staple gun. Cheap and effective.

There is the box. Nothing can come in, so the hole is not needed at the bottom.

Do you want the wooden lid to look the same from the outside? I would say the best way to protect the cushions is to place corrugated metal with a slight outward slope on the lid and a bit of overhang. Then leave the sides and bottom as they are. But that changes the appearance quite a bit. I have seen solutions with some type of plastic floor mat on the lid. That can also work. But there must be overhang.

It's difficult to make a box completely waterproof. And should you somehow succeed, the cushions will never dry if they're a bit damp when you put them in. The worst possible outcome is that there are small leaks in the almost sealed box. Staple holes, seams, or around the lid, for example. Then small amounts of water can get in. But it can't be ventilated out.

My advice is to seal the lid from the outside. Possibly also seal the sides. That can possibly be done from the inside. But definitely do not attempt to seal the bottom.

Very difficult to make such a type of bulky box look beautiful. The ones that are sold often look like horizontal trash cans. We ourselves put the cushions on a shelf under a small roof or hang them up.

A thin formply on the inside where you seal the joints and have a trim around the top edge.
