Hey!

I have to remove the entire subfloor and joists in an old log house due to moisture damage, and now I'm in the process of re-framing with 45x220. I'm planning to first build a "frame" in the room to which I'll attach joist hangers, and then place the remaining joists at 60 cm on center. But what screws do I need for the frame/support beams that are screwed directly into the log structure? Is it okay to use 2-3 screws at 400 mm on center with regular wood screws size 6.0×120, for example: http://essve.se/webcatalogue/skruv/390464-traskruv-forsankt-huvud-blankforzinkad/

Or should I use lag screws with square washers or something similar? I assume that most of the load on a support beam is downward pressure, not much outward pull force, right?

The ones you've linked to are fine, just make sure they're long and bite well, it's a bit difficult to get it straight if the logs are round, might wobble a bit.

Thank you so much for the response! I'll go with the ones I have at home (6x120 essve wood screws), and maybe I'll add a French one later when the weather allows a trip to the nearest store.
