Is there anyone who can recommend a suitable hand tool for scraping down/smoothing rendered Leca? I have seen a tool, like a float but with a steel mesh, that should work. The idea is to scrape off 5-7 mm of a rendering where it has become a bit too thick. I need to clad the surface and it will bulge out on an area of 1x4 m. I would prefer to avoid machines in this case.

The grater with a steel grid might be a waffle:

It is probably only suitable for its purpose, i.e., leveling out plaster that has started to harden.

The hand sander that helioz links to is probably the way to go when it has hardened.

It was the "våfflan" I was thinking of, but OK, if it doesn't work, I'll have to look further. I have an HM-fulltandat saw for Leca that cuts grooves like butter. The slurry is relatively porous, so I might be able to use it slightly askew as a rasp. Maybe dismantle something else with HM teeth...

The handsaw from Jula is probably too fine and removes too little. It's probably intended for the backs of castings?

I believe a machine like a milling machine, angle grinder with a grinding cup, or even a small demolition hammer with a chisel might be suitable in this case if you don't want to strain your joints or spend several days on it. But I assume there are good reasons to avoid machines since you mentioned it in the first post.

A nail board might work if it's sufficiently porous:
