Ryobi nail gun, what's wrong?

I have long wanted to buy one of these Ryobi nail guns and now I have finally taken the plunge. But unfortunately, I can't get it to work ☹️
Does anyone have any tips I should try before returning it?
The problem is that sometimes it doesn't drive in nails at all, sometimes it can drive in a nail, but then it gives up and blinks until you remove the battery.
I have a 4 Ah battery and have lubricated the mechanism to see if it would help.

Hi, have the same machine. Tried brads from Jula/Bauhaus and never had a problem. Used pneumatic versions before and then Hikokis and am really satisfied with the Ryobis. Have a 2.0 ampere battery and what you describe is more like when the battery runs out.
