I am going to apply sealant around the interior side of the front door. I have installed a backer rod and several guides indicate that one should use rubber sealant.
I haven't found anything called rubber sealant - does anyone know CAsco's equivalent or another brand?

They probably mean butyl sealant. It is used for things like caravans. It doesn't harden like regular sealant. Biltema has a version of butyltätning, have not tried theirs myself.
Sikaflex or Bostik Multifog are suitable for the purpose as they are paintable and available in several colors.
