I've been browsing the forum for an hour but can't find an answer to this question. I'm setting up a new interior wall on the upper floor. There are pipes in the floor for radiators as well as cold and hot water. But how deep in the floor are these pipes really? I haven't read anywhere that you need to be aware of the pipes when building an interior wall, so maybe that means the risk is zero if you use a reasonable length of screw? Or should I glue the sill to be on the safe side? The house is a standard wooden house from 1980 and I have blueprints of the pipes so I know roughly where they are, but it still feels scary.

As long as the screws do not go all the way through the flooring, it is risk-free.

rent a stud finder and set it to metal, and you should be able to see exactly where your water pipes are (provided that they are metal)....
