After the annual washing of the patio with a pressure washer, we discovered that water was dripping from the seam between the wall and the interior ceiling, roughly directly under the patio door. Otherwise, there is horizontal paneling a few decimeters down under the patio, but I realized that under the door, there is only an unprotected beam, so I suspect it's where the water has been running down. I assume there should have been a metal sheet there for protection? A bit unsure about the construction but with a poured foundation and how to attach the wooden frame above, is there a risk of water damage? I'm thinking that in the floor inside, there's also insulation. I don't know how far in it goes, though. The door has a frame, so there should be some allowance. Grateful for thoughts, similar experiences, and so on.

An image would have helped.

Wooden deck with an arrow pointing at a gap beneath a white double door, suggesting a missing element or issue. sorry, thought it was included..

Do you mean that there is no threshold plate/bleck?

There is a thin sheet on the door but nothing that covers, it is untreated rule that shines through at the arrow.

Then it is probably wrong. Water definitely runs right into the wall.

The question is really what should happen now. Can I hope that the water has "just" followed the rule and down the wall, and as soon as the water flow stops, it will dry by itself, or is there a risk that the water has accumulated/been absorbed in the insulation and I have to tear up the floor..?

Yes, it is possible.
