I have a plastered house built and painted with plastic paint that I need to additional insulate and re-plaster. The problem is that both short sides of the house's upper part are wood-clad, about 15 sqm as the picture shows, the other uninsulated attic.

My friend who works as a builder says that I can't do as they said in the store on the inhabited side which has a stud construction, not just put up aqua board with mineral wool and then plaster like the rest of the house. Instead, I have to make an air gap, but I would prefer that the whole house lacks plates across the entire short side facing the road. However, my friend says that I need to have some plate at the bottom of the aquaboard to get air in from below, is that correct, or can you skip the air gap or solve it in a smoother way?

Wooden gable of a house with a round window, the rest of the structure is light concrete.

There is the only wood that is on the house today, the rest is purely a lightweight concrete house.
