Hello! I'm going to nail new exterior paneling on an old log house this spring/summer, but before that, several logs (including the sill log) need to be replaced as they are severely rotted. My question is whether I need to consider that the house will settle significantly in the near future. Is it still possible to attach vertical and horizontal battens tightly to the log wall, or do I need to do it differently?
