Hello! We have a house from '64 that we bought 2 years ago. Started by removing all the vegetation the previous owners insisted on planting around the house like wild vine, climbing roses, etc. To make everything climb better, they put nails in the joints and then tied the wire that the plants could use to climb upwards. I thought it's time to fix it now. Can I just fill the holes with something like https://www.bauhaus.se/murbruk-m2-5-20kg-sack?

  • Close-up of a brick wall with visible holes in the mortar joints, previously used for supporting climbing plants.
I repaired similar holes in mine with Weber B-bruk. Worked fine!

How do you ensure that you are not using a too strong mortar that risks damaging the existing grout or bricks?

Go for husfix (there is a ready-mixed version), otherwise C-bruk is "softer"...

What I remember from using husfix before is that it is quite white in color, C-bruk would probably match better color-wise.

Looks like a C-mix but could be lime as well, but for such small repairs it doesn't really matter. Buy a C-mix with large ballast, fill in the holes and wait at least three days. Mix hydrochloric acid 30% with 4 parts water and brush it on the repair and let it sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing off so it will hardly be noticeable.
