Hi, I have a pine staircase with dents and some screw holes that I would like to repair with something in order to then sand and repaint it. What should I use for the repair?

Plastic wood is probably the easiest, otherwise there's the option to insert pieces and plugs, but that's a bit more fiddly.

Ok plastic wood, does it follow when the wood moves, etc.? What's it like to work with, does it spread out or how do you apply it?

I think Herdins is the easiest to work with, and I usually use a small Japanese spatula.
I have never had any problems with it cracking or anything, but it is only for indoor use where the wood has a low moisture content.

Uh... if the stairs are going to be painted anyway, it should work with regular putty, right??
